The onsite programme combines a full conference day on the Lisbon Coast with a Day 2 research and innovation visit to the NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon.
Conference Day on the Lisbon Coast
Riviera Hotel CarcavelosThe main conference sessions, presentations, networking, lunch and refreshments will take place at Riviera Hotel Carcavelos, an established conference venue in Carcavelos on the Lisbon Coast, between Lisbon and Cascais.

Research and innovation visit at NOVA FCT
On 16 October, registered onsite participants will take part in a research and innovation visit to the NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon, known as NOVA FCT, at its Caparica Campus.
Designed as a direct encounter with research in practice, the programme is planned to include a presentation from research leadership, guided access to selected laboratories and technology facilities, and demonstrations connected to advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing and 3D printing.
Participants will also gain insight into a mechanical and industrial engineering research environment that connects scientific development with applications across industry, services and society.

Dr. Maria Huhmarniemi is an artist, researcher and educator working across Arctic art, contemporary art, art-based research and cultural sustainability. Her work examines how creative and participatory practices can strengthen environmental awareness, community engagement and sustainability transformation, with particular attention to Arctic contexts and the relationship between art, place and society.

Dr. Saeid Lotfian is a materials engineer specialising in advanced materials and structures for renewable energy and marine engineering. His work combines structural integrity, additive manufacturing, smart materials, predictive maintenance and circular lifecycle strategies to improve the durability, reliability and environmental performance of offshore renewable energy infrastructure.
Dr. Angela Tritto

Sustainable Industrial Transformation, Critical Minerals and Regional Development
Dr. Angela Tritto researches how public, private and third-sector organisations influence sustainability and development outcomes, particularly in Southeast Asia. Her recent work addresses industrial transformation, the semiconductor sector and critical minerals, alongside the relationships between policy, investment and sustainable regional development.
