What is TIES?
The Triple Impact Evaluation System (TIES) is an advanced research evaluation system that goes beyond traditional citation-based impact measurement. While we acknowledge and incorporate conventional academic metrics, TIES enhances the evaluation process by tracking real-world applications of research in industry, patents, policy-making, and media influence.
How TIES works
TIES follows a structured process to evaluate research impact holistically:
1️⃣ Submission & Initial Review
Authors submit their research through our standard process. The research is evaluated for scientific rigor, relevance to sustainability, and practical applicability. During this stage, the manuscript receives a Preliminary Rating, which provides an initial assessment of its potential impact in Academia, Industry, and Society.
2️⃣ Impact Tracking & Scoring
After the Preliminary Rating, research impact is further tracked and measured over time through continuous monitoring. The Evolving Impact Rating evaluates how the research is applied and adopted in real-world settings, and its evolving influence across Academia, Industry, and Society. This ongoing evaluation ensures that the research’s long-term impact is captured and updated.
3️⃣ Continuous Monitoring & Updates
- Impact is not determined immediately; instead, it is tracked over time through automated monitoring systems, author self-reporting, and ongoing assessments. After the Preliminary Rating, manuscripts undergo the Evolving Impact Rating process, where their long-term impact on academia, industry, and society is evaluated and updated periodically. This ensures that the research’s influence is properly measured as it evolves.
TIES complements traditional citation-based evaluations, offering a more comprehensive way to measure research impact. TIES ensures that your research’s influence is measured not just in terms of citations, but by its real-world contributions. Through the Preliminary Rating and Evolving Impact Rating, we provide a comprehensive evaluation of how your work is making a difference in academia, industry, and society.
What Authors Need to Do
- Follow the submission guidelines and provide additional details if requested. If your research is cited in industry reports, patents, or policies, you can submit supporting evidence for further evaluation. Upon initial acceptance, your manuscript will receive a Preliminary Rating that reflects its potential impact. After publication, you will be periodically assessed for the Evolving Impact Rating, which tracks your research’s real-world impact over time.
